The new home of independent psychological fiction

MadNest is an independent publisher in Sydney, Australia publishing fictionalised versions of true stories of mental distress and recovery. The aim is to build awareness through genuine stories while protecting those who tell the stories and people they care for with careful omissions or fictionalised elements.

Semi-autobiographical fiction and roman-à-clef are our main mechanisms for balancing the need to tell detailed and true stories with the need to tell stories safely. Works with rich narratives grounded in cultural symbolism or visual metaphor are a particular focus.

Writing can be under a pen name or as a named author.

Submissions are currently by invitation only.
